Following up on the news of the International Printing and Packaging exhibition with the participation of Drupa and Interpack in Iran, we conducted an interview with Niloufar Pankar, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Foozhan Rahbaran Company, the official and exclusive representative of the Messe Düsseldorf Exhibition Company in Iran, and asked her opinion about this exhibition.

1.       Please describe a little about the scope and mission of Foozhan Rahbaran Company: Hi, Foozhan Rahbaran Company is the official/exclusive representative of German exhibition companies, including Berlin, Duesseldorf, Munich, and stationary and toys exhibitions of Nuremberg in Iran. Our mission is to make manufacturers, traders, craftsmen and job owners of our country acquainted with specialized exhibitions held in Germany. We want to encourage them to travel to German exhibitions (which can be called the best in the world) to get acquainted with the newest industries they seek. As you know, Germany has over 800 years of experience in the implementation of exhibitions, and annually more than two thirds of the world's specialized exhibitions are held only in Germany, one third remains for the rest of the world! As much as any machine carrying “Made in Germany” label gives credit to that machine, the exhibitions of that country also benefit from this label. Those machines, equipment, devices and parts that carry the “Made in Germany” label are exposed to the world in events that also carry the “Made In Germany” label. We are proud to introduce our dear fellow countrymen to this area in many ways throughout the years.
Although these days, our responsibilities have become a bit heavier thanks to the JCPOA the expansion of relations between the exhibition centers and Iran. Until yesterday, we would pave the way for the Iranians to go to Germany, now it’s the opposite! Now we are helping our German colleagues (and here specifically I speak of Messe Düsseldorf), we are tasked with facilitating the entry of international companies into Iranian exhibitions.

2.       Knowing that the International Printing and Packaging (IPAP) exhibition will be held in Shahr-e-Aftaab, Tehran in September, tell us a little about the exhibition:
The IPAP exhibition is one of the hundreds of projects that Messe Dusseldorf holds every year, not only in Dusseldorf, Germany, but also in many countries, from Russia and the United States, Thailand and China to India, Brazil and Iran. You know Messe Düsseldorf as one of the world's foremost executives, it holds fifty specialized exhibitions in Düsseldorf every year, 23 of which are the first in the world. There are 8 subsidiaries and 73 representative offices in 136 countries (we are one of them), Messe Düsseldorf has implemented more than 5,000 exhibitions in the last 60 years. The IPAP and the PacProcess are two exhibitions that Messe Düsseldorf has a worldwide reputation for Drupa and Interpack, and, in line with market demand and potential in the country, it is expected to be welcomed by the people of these industries, especially the packaging industry.

3.       Will Foozhan Rahbaran participate in organizing this exhibition?
We are not essentially the executive company. In fact, we are the arm of the Duesseldorf exhibition in Iran. We are the executor of the Düsseldorf policy, in other words: a part of its body.
How much interested do you see German companies in the Iranian market, given the country's political situation and the lifting of economic sanctions?

Very much. We all know that Iran and Germany have always been friends and partners traditionally. A lot of Iranians have been educated in Germany. We had many business contacts with the Germans. Germany was the first Iranian business partner for years, in short, it was a long story until the sanctions began ... Since the launch or the announcement of the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran, the volume of German companies' requests for entry into the Iranian market has increased tremendously, unfortunately, I can not say anything as a percentage. But for example: at the time of the sanctions, the subsidy that the Ministry of Economy granted to German companies to attend Iranian exhibitions was cut off, which has now not only been resumed, but apparently multiplied. The number of economic committees that travel to Iran has increased the workload of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Iran and Germany (which is responsible for dealing with such matters) in an unbelievable manner.

I explained above about the tasks of our company, but I remembered here, thanks to the JCPOA new headlines have been added to our work. "Conducting specialized conferences for German business delegations" in the past months, we have been organizing conferences in some industrial sectors at least with representatives of 8-7 German companies who wanted to sell their machines and technologies to Iranian companies. In short, the desire of the Germans to resume trade with Iran is very high, and I take it as a good omen.

How do you think we can establish more communication between European and Iranian companies? I think the first step is to create a suitable platform for introduction, and referral sessions. These announcements are possible through various options. For example, we will start with the simplest form of information, namely, the sending of a notice leaflet (recall) to the customer's address. Publishing news and advertisements in specialized journals, participation in domestic exhibitions, holding specialized conferences, holding specialized roundtables, News conferences, close co-operation with associations, unions, institutions, and ... I think that all these can be helpful. On the other hand, running an exhibition inside Iran and directing international companies to enter the Iranian market, each of which presents its own industrial innovations to Iranian artisans, will have a significant role in deepening the relationship between European and Iranian companies, which obviously is what we are doing at Messe Düsseldorf.
